Our Advisor: Mr. Dennis

Meet our Club Advisor, Mr. Dennis!
Tony Dennis
Educator & Program Coordinator at Pleasanton Unified School District

Mr. Tony Dennis earned his Bachelor's of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering in 1987 and worked as an Operations Manager for Electrical engineering. Following 2002, Mr. Dennis joined Amador to lead the effort to expand the Engineering Academy at Amador Valley High School, which is now entering its tenth year teaching the Project Lead The Way Engineering curriculum. He led the initiative to organize space planning and reconfiguration of on-campus facilities, community outreach, and technology review and selection. Since 2012, Mr. Dennis has been actively teaching Amador's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-year courses, introducing students to the world of engineering and design through survey courses on a variety of topics and specialty courses in digital electronics.

In addition, Mr. Dennis has been an advocate for technology in the classroom and the coordination point for all Project Lead The Way activities in the Pleasanton Unified School District. Thanks to Mr. Dennis, we now have the PLTW Gateway program at all three of the middle schools in the district, engineering and bio-medical programs at both comprehensive high schools, and the PLTW Launch program at one of the elementary schools.

Along with being a committed mentor and teacher, Mr. Dennis continues to work with students on extracurricular activities such as the competitive VEX Robotics Team, SWENext, and the TARC Rocketry team. In 2016, Mr. Dennis was Awarded California's Pleasanton Unified School District Teacher of the Year; more about Mr. Dennis in this video:
